“When I was five my mother said, if you want to eat you have to learn how to whistle.”

“Tampico” is a documentary short about a woman’s struggle to support herself and her 50-year old mentally challenged brother by playing their family’s traditional music in the subways of Chicago.

Set within the backdrop of a rapidly disappearing neighborhood, Tampico makes hard choices in order to protect her family.
